Clover 10km fun-run

Pete once again decided that it’s time to get back on the fitness bandwagon so competed in the PE Clover (milk brand) 10km fun run on Saturday morning. Whilst the 7am race start time seems somewhat early, parenthood and early rises for work has made 7am a sleep in. It was quite a large event with around 600 entrants- probably a testament to the token entrance fee of only R15 ( He finished in an admirable sub-48min, not bad given his present fitness levels. Jen and Harrison made it to the finish line in time to see the winner. Not surprisingly the top 100 finishers were all skinny black athletes- some wearing shoes, some not wearing shoes (10km ROAD race)! Harrison rugged up (& doing his Stuie look!) Some athletes competing without shoes! Blink & you'll miss Pete! Pete with his #1 supporter

A growing Harrison, 6 weeks

Today Harrison is 6 weeks old. We had the standard 6 week check-up with the paediatrician which confirmed that Harrison is developing and growing very well. He weighed in at an impressive 5.9kg- he has obviously found a good paddock to graze in! Harrison's development continues to captivate us... he is starting to reach for and touch objects and is giving big smiles to us both. Harrison has also discovered Jen's long hair (how long before Jen decides to cut it off?!). Harrison at 6 weeks

Sunday drive to Kenton-on-Sea

After some early morning exercise and a skype chat with Bin, we packed a picnic lunch and drove north-east along the Sunshine Coast to Kenton-on-Sea. Kenton-on-Sea is a small coastal town sandwiched between the river mouths of the Bushman's River and Kariega River. The town has a very relaxed coastal vibe- probably due to the nature reserve which spans the length of the shore ensuring that no developments can spoil the coast. With the sun shining accompanied by a bright blue sky, we ate lunch at a pristine beach of white sand where the Bushman's River meets the ocean... ideal for a lazy Sunday! Bushman's river mouth Harrison in hiding!
